Our story

TDM Guitars is more than just a guitar shop — it's the result of a lifelong passion for guitars and a genuine dedication to the craft.

I'm Taylor Marshall, a qualified guitar technician and luthier based in Eastleigh, just outside Southampton. My passion for guitars began at a young age, starting with classical guitar before moving into acoustic and electric instruments. In late 2022 I launched TDM Custom Guitars to fully dedicate myself to professional guitar repairs and custom electric guitar builds.

I've been working on guitars for over 8 years, progressing from Partscasters and kit builds to fully scratch-built instruments. My training includes learning from internationally recognised luthier David Whiteman, completing Level 1 and Level 2 guitar technician courses with Ash Nightingale of Nightingale Guitars, and spending several years with my grandfather learning cabinet making and woodworking. As a guitarist myself, I treat every instrument as if it were my own — tailoring each repair and setup to the player's needs and never letting a guitar leave the bench unless I'm proud of the work.

In late 2025, my wife and I relocated the workshop and rebranded as TDM Guitars, expanding into a local, independent, family-owned guitar shop while continuing to offer professional repairs, setups and custom builds.

When you bring your guitar to TDM, it's not going to a faceless repair centre — it's going to someone who genuinely loves what they do, has trained seriously to do it well, and cares about getting it right. That's a promise we make to every customer.
